Privacy policy of Petite Liste d'épicerie Inc.

We collect the minimum required to operate the application: your account, your lists and recipes, your subscription, and notifications if you enable them. We do not sell your data and we do not engage in targeted advertising. The details follow.

1. Who we are.

   Petite Liste d'épicerie Inc., a company based in Quebec, Canada. For any question about your personal information, or to exercise your rights, please write to our privacy officer at info@petite-liste.com.

2. Your account.

   Sign-in is handled by Auth0. We retain your name and email address. We do not store your password. If you choose to sign in with a third-party service (for example Google or Apple), that service transmits your name and email to us so that we may create the account.

3. What you enter in the app.

   Your grocery lists, recipes and favourites, the stores you follow, household size, whether there are young children, your preferred prep time, as well as your tastes and the ingredients you wish to avoid. We use this information to rank the recipes we suggest to you.

4. Ingredients to avoid.

   The “To avoid” section only ranks certain recipes further down in your suggestions. It is not a food-safety filter: the application does not exclude recipes and does not guarantee that an ingredient or allergen is absent. Always check the labels. We do not use this information for medical purposes and we do not disclose it to anyone other than the processors listed below.

5. Family plan.

   If you invite someone to your Family plan, you provide us with their email address and first name so that we may create and send the invitation. The invited member sees the shared household content as provided by the plan. When you cancel an invitation or remove a member, that information is deleted from the household. Please only invite people who expect to receive such an invitation.

6. Subscription and payment.

   On iPhone and iPad, payments are processed by Apple. We receive the transaction identifier and your subscription status (active, expired, cancelled). We never see your card number. On other platforms, and for certain subscription restores based on your email, payment is processed by Stripe acting as payment processor.

7. Notifications.

   If you authorize them, we retain a device token (provided by Apple and Expo) in order to send reminders related to your lists and recipes. The token identifies the device, not the person. You may disable notifications at any time in your phone settings.

8. On your device.

   Some data remains local: your session, display preferences and lists in progress. If you use Face ID, matching takes place on your device; we never receive biometric data.

9. Processors.

   We share your data only with the providers required to operate the service: Auth0 (sign-in), Apple (purchases and iOS notifications), Stripe (payment on other platforms), Microsoft Azure (application and database hosting), Expo (push delivery). Each provider accesses only what it needs. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

10. Hosting and transfers.

    Our servers are hosted on Microsoft Azure, primarily in Canada. By using our services, you agree that your information may be processed outside Quebec or outside Canada when necessary to provide the service, including by the processors above.

11. Retention.

    We retain your data for as long as your account exists. After you delete your account, we retain only what our legal, accounting and tax obligations require, such as subscription records.

12. Your rights.

    You may request access to your information, its correction, its portability or its deletion. In the application, go to Settings then “Delete my account”: deletion is permanent. You may also write to info@petite-liste.com. If our response does not satisfy you, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

13. What we do not do.

    No selling or renting of your data. No targeted advertising. No advertising tracking, within the application or across applications. No automated decisions with legal effects concerning you.

14. Website and cookies.

    The petite-liste.com website may use technical cookies, for example to remember your display language. The mobile application displays no advertising and uses no advertising cookies.

15. Changes.

    We may update this policy. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its update date at the top. If a change is material, we will notify you in the application or by email.
